Keeping a daily sketchbook helps you to see and be present in the world.
I often get asked what art supplies I carried with me when walking and sketching for 500 miles on the Camino de Santiago. The sketch above shows all the tools I needed in a plastic zip top bag that I crammed into my already very full pack.
I sketched every day recording what was in front of me using pens and watercolors and writing down where we were and the date. The simple act of taking time to sketch created a deeper connection to the environment, stronger memories and enhanced the experiences of each amazing day on my journey. Buen Camino!
