Hi, I'm Jennifer: living, sketching, and painting on the coast of Maine.

I'm an Illustrator, Author, & Design Director.

After college, I found my way into commercial art and spent twenty years as vice president of creative design for LL Bean in Freeport, Maine. In my post-corporate career, I've worked for more than ten years as a freelance creative director, designer, and illustrator.

In between freelance jobs, I picked up a pen and started to draw. It changed my life and how I see the world.

Since then, I've sketched and painted my way up and down the Maine coast and throughout the United States. I've sketched through Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, over the Inca Trail to the ruins of Machu Picchu, while living on the island of Bali, Indonesia, climbing to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro, and most recently while walking on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage across Spain.

As for today? I'm rarely seen without a pen and sketchbook. The simplest of surroundings are what inspires me most.

Sketch Progression:

Initial pencil sketch, ink the sketch, add first layer of color, add second layer of color, add more depth and details with color, final layer of color including the sky.
