May 25th—Book launch party at Spinnaker Trust in Portland Maine
Thank you Spinnaker Trust for a fun and festive book launch party for my book "Walking in Watercolor". Their offices were filled with enthusiastic and interested friends and clients who generously came to share my story and buy a book. Even my 92 year old mom, Jackie, made the trip from Arizona to attend the event. A wonderful evening with Spanish guitar music, tapas, Spanish beer and wine and the most delicious cake decorated with the cover image. Muchas Gracias Spinnaker Trust and Buen Camino!!!

The books arrive in the Netherlands
Wim and Erwin got their books.
We met pilgrims Erwin and his dad Wim from the Netherlands on our journey on the Camino de Santiago. Always fun to run into them along "The Way" catching up on our adventures as we all made our way across Spain. Erwin ordered the book as a gift for his dad and we sent along an extra copy for him. Thank you pilgrims and Buen Camino!

Last evening
One last evening with my 92 year old mom watching the news and that “confounded Jeopardy". I quickly sketched her, my pens and pencils moving over the paper capturing her image. Seemingly, the years of our classically difficult mother/daughter relationship seem to fall away as we quietly talked and I sketched. Landed in Firenze and after meeting with friends we took a stroll through the city enjoying a cappuccino. Later a delicious Italian dinner at a small trattoria before we traveled to San Gimignano to start our 200 mile walk to Rome.

The daily impasse
It is embarrassing as I drag all of Sophie's 13 lbs straining on her leash with little claws gripping onto the bricks to find that one tasty dropped morsel. The wonderful Scratch Bakery is a dog owners nemesis. Slammed with a horrible head cold and 10° outside kept me home. Feeling tired and rundown I pondered #oneweek100people2017. So with a warm fire and hot tea, Day 1 was started from the Sktchy app.
It's melting
It's 50°, the snow is melting and the birds are singing. Winter isn't really over, but it's nice to dream. Using up leftover oil paint on the palette from a couple of pet portrait commissions.
